Anjara García is the designer behind the Benibeca brand.

Sevillian by birth and cosmopolitan in her vocation, Anjara is a creator with a significant history in the world of fashion, through development of her own labels, and as  creative advisor for various international brands. Her debut was in the year 2000, taking first prize in the contest for young talents in Pasarela Mustang, within the famed FIB (Festival of Benicassim).  Her main definitive launch was   via participation in Pasarela Gaudí, in which she cemented the beginning of a prosperous career as an entrepreneur and designer. Since these earliest times, she has been present in fairs and international sales points such as New York, Paris, and Shanghai, amongst others.

After years designing within an exclusively female universe, on this new stage Anjara has discovered an added passion in masculine fashion. "Benibeca allows me to work for the first time with a male audience, which is a challenge but at the same time it is an important creative incentive, because it is an area where much remains to be discovered, innovated and experienced" explains the designer. “In addition, men’s bathing wear seemed fully invented, but that is not quite accurate, since most commercial collections have not finished their products satisfyingly. There is an important demand for swimsuits with style, design and quality and that’s the public we are focusing on.”

Benibeca swimsuits show an important component of design in their prints, always original, mixing diverse influences coming from different cultural iconographies to nature.

“ The process of creating the prints has been a revelation for me, "says Anjara. “ Designing women collections, I was always focusing on working shapes, but with Benibeca, designing the prints has revealed something tremendously creative and complex which completely absorbs me.” The balance becomes the backbone of Benibeca’s prints. Forms which function as structures are born from the fusion of organic silhouettes, with the enhancement of imposed graphic design. Likewise, the use of colors is also a balancing act to produce a tasteful and discreet contrast.  "When I work on the prints, I try to isolate myself from all the conventional influences and focus more on my experiences.

I am inspired mainly by cultural and ethnic references that I collect on my travels. Africa, Latin America and Asia are now the sources which compel me most, since Western culture, as a result of globalization, has become homogenized and to some measure, more banal. My work is mainly about sensations and what shapes and colors convey in a totally subjective way. "

Anjara seeks above all to capture the taste of the modern, worldly, adventurous man, with a keen interest in enjoying the best that life can offer. The result is beachwear suitable for all ages - from men in their youth to maturity, but always with a marked taste for style and personality.  “Travel, breathe, observe, find the contrasts offered by life" are  premises that the designer embraces in this new creative adventure she has embarked on.
